One day, I sat down and began looking through a magazine. I came across an article about the art of KINTSUGI which is taking broken pieces of pottery and restoring them, making a beautiful piece of art. I began to weep because I knew that this is what is done when you become a Christian.
As we go through life, we all face many trials. This begins to put cracks in our hearts. Sometimes it's more than a chip here or a chip there.
Sometimes we completely crumble.
But God is the potter and we are the clay.
"Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." Isaiah 64:8
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this
all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
2 Cor. 4:7
There is so much in scripture on this subject.
We go through life as broken vessels. Most people would throw away a broken pot thinking it is not worth much. This is where Jesus comes in and puts us back on the potter's wheel and goes to work.
He reshapes our lives. He takes those cracks and fills them with gold. Now we become priceless works of art.
"This third I will put into the fire;
I will refine them like silver
and test them like gold.
They will call on my name
and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’ "
Zechariah 13:9
I pray as you look upon this work of art that you would see the scars of beauty. That Jesus would be revealed to you and you would allow Him to do His creative art in your heart as only He can do.
Blessings,
Jacque
